Pembrokeshire Respite Project (Jan – March 2024)

Pembrokeshire County Council are running a pilot project with two care homes in the county for block booking of a respite bed at each, between Monday 29th January and Sunday 31st March 2024. This means each home has agreed to keep a bed solely to be used for respite between these dates. The purpose of the pilot is to see whether this method of securing respite beds, a) better supports the care sector to be able to provide respite/short breaks, and b) better supports unpaid carers and those they care for to access flexible breaks when they need them.

The two homes taking part in the pilot are as follows:

Parc Y Llyn – 01437 741667 – based in Ambleston. They are offering Residential, Residential EMI, Nursing & Nursing EMI respite placements at the standard PCC rates, plus an additional top-up fee ranging between £65-£85 per week. (If the additional top-up fee is a barrier for someone wishing to use this pilot bed, please contact me at the earliest opportunity.)

Fairfield – 01437 891668 – based in Johnston. They are offering Residential, Residential EMI & Nursing respite placements at the standard PCC Rates.
