Introducing the ‘Seibiant’ project, an exciting initiative funded by Welsh Government through Carers Trust Walesโ€™s AMSER grant and delivered by All Wales Forum (AWF) and partners. The project is focused on coordinating flexible short breaks specifically designed to provide respite for carers like you, while accessing the hospitality and leisure industry in Wales.

What is ‘Seibiant’ all about?

‘Seibiant’ is set to support family carers of individuals with Learning Disabilities and complex needs experience flexible respite. We understand that your role as a carer can be challenging and demanding. That’s why we’re committed to offering you rejuvenating short breaks, tailored to meet your needs and preferences. With a minimum of 40+ short breaks planned across Wales, ‘Seibiant’ aims to make a lasting difference in the lives of carers like you.

How does it work?

At ‘Seibiant,’ we value collaboration and co-design. We work hand in hand with family carers, using the innovative ‘respitality’ model, to create short breaks that cater to your specific desires. Through our partnership with local hospitality and leisure services, we ensure that each break is thoughtfully planned and customized to suit your preferences. As a participant, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy up to ยฃ500 for your short breaks, to be spent over a maximum of 2 breaks, empowering you to make the most of your respite experiences.

These breaks can be with your cared-for, on your own, or with a partner. The only requirement is that the break is something creative, designed around you, and something you wouldn’t be able to access without this project.

What can you expect from your Seibiant break?

The breaks are designed around you – to give you the relaxation and rejuvenation you deserve. You can look forward to overnight stays in comfortable accommodations, exciting group day trips to discover new places and experiences, and even peer group trips that foster connections with fellow carers who understand your journey. We prioritise your well-being and want you to return from each break feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready to continue your invaluable role as a carer.
