This venture is a partnership between Nationwide and Dementia UK, offering FREE 45-minute appointments with a dementia specialist nurse in their branches across the UK and Wales. All appointments are confidential and will take place in a private space within the branch.
The dementia specialist nurses (Admiral Nurses), can offer advice to families and carers about dementia symptoms and progression, guidance on how to support someone living with the condition and manage changes in behaviour, advice on navigating the social care system and legal issues or simply provide emotional support to family carers.
The areas covered in Wales are: Wrexham, Colwyn Bay, Cwmbran, Llanelli, Newport, Swansea, Cardiff, Aberystwyth.
