Museums Inspiring Memories is a 3-year project (funded by the National Lottery Community Fund) in partnership with Alzheimerโs Society Cymru, with the purpose of developing and delivering practical ways to engage with and to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia, through access to museum resources and sites.
The work will include:
- establishing a Dementia Voice in Heritage Group to help steer and shape the project
- developing and delivering dementia awareness training sessions for staff working within the heritage sector
- developing and delivering training sessions for carers / care home activity coordinators in using museum resources with those that they care for
- putting together a programme of activities to enable equitable access to museum resources and sites, for those affected by dementia
In looking to make this project as impactful as possible, the project is hoping to work with people from across sectors and communities. If you would like to be included on an emailing list (which will be used to promote future opportunities to get involved), or would like to learn more about the work, please contact [email protected]
