You are invited to a special free screening of ‘The World Turned Upside Down’, a new documentary about dementia and communication, at the Y Ffwrnes Llanelli. This event will feature discussion of the film’s themes and a chance to share your opinion. This event is a collaboration between the Community Project Manager HDUHB, People Speak Up, Y Ffwrnes Llanelli and IDEAL programme and CADR and is for anyone living with dementia or carers, family, health and social care professionals.
Although this is a free event you need to book your place as seats are limited, here are the details and booking link: https://www.theatrausirgar.co.uk/en/shows/the-world-turned-upside-down
The original play drew on research evidence from the IDEAL programme (an Alzheimer’s Society Centre of Excellence studying how to improve the lives of people with mild-to-moderate dementia and their carers living in the community) and the real-life experience of a dedicated involvement group of people with dementia and carers. As well as the performances, the film shows the rehearsal process, audience reactions and reflections from those involved in the project.
This screening on Thursday 16th March 2023 at Y Ffwrness Theatre Llanelli will allow the opportunity for discussion of the film’s themes. Dr Catherine Charlwood (IDEAL’s Research Translation Manager) will be on hand to answer questions and share research opportunities with you.
This event will be in English.
Please feel free to share this invitation with anyone you think might be interested.
