Unpaid carers of all ages in West Wales should be visible, feel valued and be supported. These are the proposed priorities that will form the foundation for the next Carers Strategy for West Wales 2025-2030 and are based on the conversations that we have had with unpaid carers and organisations that support unpaid carers, over the past 9 months.

We welcome your views and if youโ€™d like to help shape the priorities and actions for the Carers Strategy 2025-2030, please visit: West Wales Carers Priorities Consultation โ€“ West Wales Regional Partnership Board

Research shows that many people in Wales donโ€™t see themselves as unpaid carers.  If you regularly look after a family member, friend or neighbour who may not be able to cope without some sort of help, whether it be the grocery shop or providing more intense personal support, you would be considered to be an unpaid carer.  Unpaid carers donโ€™t always need or want support but circumstances can change, both over time or unexpectedly, leading to a possible point of crisis or deterioration of health and or wellbeing.
